The program

The revolution in digital education is on the march!

At a time when industrial civilization is giving way to the knowledge civilization, the transmission of knowledge is changing thanks to the marriage of digital and teaching.

Particularly thanks to Interactive Digital Boards, IDBs, teachers can now teach using digital teaching resources that they share with their students on an immense computer screen projected onto a wall or a board. Interactive exercises, videos, 3D animations can be included in classes.

All these resources in the Sankoré program are unrestricted and free. Teachers can use them, modify them, or create new ones that they will share with the entire Sankoré community.

Today, the evolution of digital technologies is making it possible to equip schools with low-cost digital classes.

The most elaborate teaching resources can thus be shared for free. Digital education therefore is not just the privilege of rich countries, but it is accessible to developing countries as well. Which is a chance that the Sankoré wants everyone to seize. So that everyone can benefit from the revolution of unrestricted, free digital education for all.

The name Sankoré refers to one of the world’s oldest universities, created in Timbuktu in Mali.

The Sankoré charter

> an ecosystem open to all teachers for the creation, distribution, and sharing of unrestricted, free digital education resources.

Teachers who use the Open-Sankoré software will constitute an international ecosystem for producing unrestricted, free digital education resources. The RNEL should cover scholastic programs for all teaching levels and for all disciplines. Teachers can, with no advanced technical knowledge, create enriched, interactive classes. They can then publish these classes, distribute them, and share them with Sankoré communities thanks to the Planète.Sankoré.org platform. A smart search engine will easily provide access to a universal library that will eventually cover all the needs of teachers.

> A program for equipping digital classes in Africa, for training teachers digitally and producing unrestricted, free digital education resources...

This program is broken down country by country. It will equip a significant number of schools with Sankoré digital classes. First of all, it will deal with regional teacher training schools (EFI) and the application schools around them. The teachers trained will become the trainers of new teachers. Resource production cooperatives will be organized in certain voluntary countries (Senegal, Mauritius, etc.). The Open-Sankoré software will enable them to build a national base of digital teaching resources, adapted to local curricula.

> The Open-Sankoré software: an unrestricted, free program for teaching, creating, and sharing.

The Open-Sankoré program is an interactive digital teaching program for IDB s. It is free, open-source, with high value added.

It is ergonomic, it was designed for and with users. It combines the simplicity of traditional teaching tools, with the advantages of digital interactivity.

It is universal: it is compatible with all types of interactive hardware. And it is translated into 23 languages.

Open-Sankoré is an open-source publishing software for creating interactive digital teaching resources for IDB s: it makes it possible to create, publish, and share resources produced with the ecosystem of teachers belonging to the Sankoré community. A universal bank of unrestricted, free digital teaching resources will thus be accessible to everyone at the planète.sankoré.org portal.
